Here is an amazing Mexican amber carving of an ammonite. This carving is of exquisite quality and craftsmanship. This carving shows three dimensional detail. The ammonite is resting in red amber. It was carved by hand in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas Mexico by Pedro Picapiedra or PAMO. PAMO has won multiple first place awards at the annual Amber EXPO carving contest in Chiapas. It weighs 33.9 grams and measures 2 3/8 in X 1 3/4 in X 1 in. This was made from a piece of flawless red amber.
